An orange crush…

I had such fun making my most recent magazine project, and I’ve fallen in love with the rusty colours, which are so different from my favourite tones of soft blues and pinks.

Mom is sewing sneak peek

Burnt orange and taupe go quite nicely together… I think I have a new crush!

What colour combinations are your favourites?

I am now using a lot of orange, rust and tans etc with greens on my crazy quilt blocks, a colour that I have never used much before but like you loving it.

oFunny. I'm working with a burnt orangy fabric, too, and loving it. Mine is combined with purples and yellows and is a child's quilt.

Wow! I never would have said that I liked orange - in fact, I've tended to stay away from it if I can - but these fabrics look wonderful together ... still probably wouldn't use them for something for myself, but I could probably cope with making something for someone else in this fabric/colour combo!! Normally my fav colours would have to be in the pink, red, teal, blue & purple ranges. Softer rather than dirtier fabrics, though I can cope with bright versions :D

Hey Vikki. I've stepped away from my usual bright colour palette and am doing Hexies is pale pink, mint green, and baby blue. It's a refreshing change.

Orange is Miss Aimee's favourite colour, so we see a lot of it around here. As you know, I'm a white and blue girl :)
