Beautiful gardens & Puff is finished!

On Sunday, my family and I headed up into the hills to visit some gardens. It was cold but the fresh air and serene beauty filled us all with renewed vigour!

I don't think I need to write any more words here! I'll let the photos do the talking!

Puff is finished!

I completed my Puff the Magic Dragon quilt too! :-) He embarked on his plane journey to England yesterday... It would have been cheaper for him to fly himself... but he said that his wings were too new to be broken-in on such a long trip. What can I say? I'm a big softie!

I really love the fabric used for the back of the quilt. I had earmarked it for a fairy house, but it just 'went' with this project so well. Sewing on the binding was pure bliss, just looking at the colours and how they play with eachother put a big contented smile on my face. I know... I should get out more often eh?!! :-)

I quilted the curly smoke being breathed from Puff's mouth. And because Puff 'lived by the sea', I quilted waves by his feet. The 'Autum mist' was insinuated in the white clouds above his head. However, I don't think the quality of the quilting portrays these ideas. But that doesn't matter!

I hope you are all having a good week?

Until next time - happy creating! :-)

Dear sweet Vikki,
You should be so very very proud, What a wonderful dragon, and the garden arches, so beautiful indeed. I agree with the comment you made on my blog, medieval is what i should have said, and a little bit Wicca, which is something quite different

The garden photos are fabulous, story-book charming and I could linger there for a lifetime!

Puff...is Beautiful! You did an amazing job with the whole piece.

I DO feel your quilting his smoke and the waves completes the story...and gives the viewer more to consider and see.

Hi Hun, I bet you are just being modest and those are actually your back gardens where Aaron and Rosie play--lol!
Hey Puff looks fabulous, you deserve to be really pleased. I know what you mean about postage to the UK though, its shocking isn't it. I sent an A4 envelope with just some papers in it the other day and it was $16 NZ. Maybe they should build a tunnel from the pacific to the UK, not the Channel tunnel but the Pacific tunnel with turn offs to Aus, NZ etc. I don't think its asking much!
Gosh obviously I have far too much time on my hands-lol
