Revamping some new (old) finds!

Wow – thank you for the fantastic response to my surprise giveaway! I have enjoyed reading your comments and listening to your stories of gift-giving and receiving!

It seems like quite a number of you like to squeeze and shake your parcels, and ask the gift-giver lots of questions. I have a very expressionate face that gives away everything… so it’s a good job there’s no web-cam here! Smile

Okay! So here’s a cryptic clue: You don’t need to be a General to enjoy this textured bliss!

Has that got you thinking??

On to other ‘doings’! I am SO excited because I recently purchased a pre-loved desk from my local charity shop.

New desk picnicked

I love it! What do you think? It looks in great condition but does need a new paint-job; so I’ve left it in our family room until I get around to doing the messy jobs of sanding and painting. I need to get some good lighting for it too – as that’s one essential element that is missing from my current work space.

My friends know only too well how I feel about my creative area – I refer to it as “the teenage boys’ den”. I only have one teenager but my husband counts for at least two more!!! The room is cluttered and untidy with chip packets wafting around the room like tumbleweed… oh okay… I’m exaggerating about the chip packets but you get the picture?!

When I spotted this desk I thought I could live in shabby chic heaven… even if the rest of the room is covered in Xbox games and controllers… at least I can look directly in front of me at the country-style desk, and lose myself in it! I’ll show you step-by-step as I make my sewing-space transformation!

While at the charity shop I also picked up this little wooden crib:

New toy cot

I have started base-coating it in white, and look forward to making some sweet bedding to fit it. It’s a surprise Easter gift for my daughter! Talking of Easter, I also need to make a bunny costume for an Easter-themed day at school this Friday… wish me luck!

Until next time – hugs! Vikki xx

ps. My giveaway is open until next Wednesday – so if you haven’t done so already – you can still enter!

That desk is a beauty Vik. Looks perfect for your sewing room. Perhaps you need a screen too to divide your area so you can't see the teenage zone. Not sure what yuo can do about the smell... it seems to me you can always smell teenagers!! lol

Hi Vikki
Your make overs will be fabulous.
I hope the General your giveaway is referring to is French General, their fabrics are devine.

Keep creating.

Wahoo sweet, loving your new desk and the crib is beautiful. I know a wee girl who will adore that. But there is definitely no way you could turn that desk down, it will certainly make "your" statement in the room and knock the boys clean away.

Hm....could that be a FRENCH General? *giggle* Vikki, I love your new desk, it's just gorgeous! I think I would tell the boys to get a new cave. I can't wait to see how you dress it up - it's already so pretty but I know the Vikki touch will make it REALLY special!

I also love the little rocking crib. That's going to be a major hit with your darling daughter!

Love ya girl!
