We are almost at the end of our first week of school holidays here in Victoria, and there has been a lot of crafty pursuits happening in the SUDs household, including baking, drawing and painting… soon I shall be teaching my young daughter some sewing, too!
But today we took our paintbrushes outside of the home and met up with some like-minded friends (my “painting buddies”, Anne & Karen, and their two gorgeous girls) to go to the amazing Ceramic Cafe.
Just look at the concentration on my DD’s face!
A gorgeous rainbow-coloured Kitty!
Rosie’s completed cupcake… ready to be glazed and fired along with these beauties…
The cupcake in the pic above is the one I painted… but Rosie’s is much more creative!
We had such a fun morning, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves – as did us adults! If you live in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and are looking for a fun activity this school holidays – I thoroughly recommend this place!
Now to wait a week and collect our finished items… what shall we do in the meantime? Hmmm… more painting!!
Hugs! Vikki & Rosie xx

Awwww.... Rosie is so cute. Tell her I think she has the makings of a wonderful artist and I can't wait to see her ceramics all fired and finished.

My daughter and I have had a go at this in the past. They always look fantastic once glazed and fired. I then joined a ceramic painting class, it can get quite addictive too.

Vikki that is such a beautiful photo of you & Rosie. What a great creative activity to do together & with friends. She is obviously very crestive like her mum. Love Rosie's kitty! Tracee xx
Well the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree!! I think you have a budding artist there, I just LOVE Rosie's heart and flowers pic!!! I remember doing the same thing with Bear when she was about 10, she made the most wonderful Christmas candy box - such a treasure. I know Rosie's and your cupcakes will be too, what lovely memories they'll bring back to you both in years to come ;o).
Love n hugs dear one,

Oh they are just beautiful. It brought back great memories for me when I used to take ceramics as a kid! You're such a great mom!
ahhh Vickie and Rosie...a pretty picture you make...you are a delightful MUMMY...xpo
Rosie is very talented! Such fine work.
And, what a darling girl she is!
So nice to see you both! I love doing crafts with Claire too :o) I won't be getting my kiln up and running this year as it would be a waste of money because with all the patchwork, I really don't have time for pottery but maybe next Spring! Hugs, L
